know the signs. start the conversation.
Before Type 1 Diabetes became part of our world, I didn’t know the signs either. And that’s a huge part of why Salty Strides exists.
T1D can show up fast, especially in kids. Being extra thirsty, peeing more often, unexplained weight loss, increased hunger or unusual tiredness are just a few signs worth knowing.
This page isn’t here to scare you, and it’s definitely not here to diagnose your child. This is not medical advice. We’re simply sharing what we’ve learned in hopes that more parents know the signs, trust their gut and feel confident starting a conversation with their child’s doctor.
Because awareness is powerful — and sometimes, simply knowing what to look for can change a story.
KNOW THE SIGNS. TRUST YOUR GUT. ASK THE QUESTION.
The information shared on this page is for general awareness and educational purposes only and is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always speak with a qualified healthcare professional if you have questions or concerns about your child’s health.
